FLSA Changes: A Look into the DOL's Final Overtime Rule and How You Can Prepare

When: Available On Demand

Duration: 50 minutes + Q&A

In this webcast, we will go in-depth on the U.S. Department of Labor’s final rule to boost the salary threshold at which workers are eligible to receive overtime, making a major change to employee exemption criteria under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

This salary level threshold increase could represent financial and operational challenges for employers, who now must evaluate how their employees are scheduled and paid in order to make the types of workforce decisions that will mitigate their labor costs and their exposure under the FLSA.

We will provide an overview of the final rule, five potential challenges employers may face and four potential solutions to those challenges.

The final rule was announced on Sept. 24, 2019, and goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020. It will extend overtime protections to more than a million currently exempt workers making less than $35,568 annually.
