Paycom, a leading provider of comprehensive, cloud-based technology for human capital management, raised the bar with its annual gift to The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma by donating $60,112 on Tuesday.
This year’s total surpassed last year’s gift of $56,100. Paycom’s contribution helped the Oklahoma City-based nonprofit reach its kettle-campaign goal as part of its continuing efforts to help those in need, both during the holiday season and beyond.
“I am extremely proud to be part of an organization that is so supportive of its community, especially in the way our co-workers come together to help those who are less fortunate,” said Stacey Pezold, Paycom executive vice president of operations.
To raise the funds, Paycom employees participated in a raffle, in which every dollar raised was matched with a corporate gift of $1.50. Paycom’s 2014 gift was the largest employee-and-company-combined donation The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma has received this year.
“We’re so grateful to individuals, families and corporations like Paycom that are able to help The Salvation Army,” Major Carlyle Gargis said. “Due to gifts like this, the red kettle, our Angel Tree program and other individuals, we have been able to help provide Christmas for over 5,000 children.”
In addition to their generous contribution, employees helped make Christmas possible for 85 Oklahomans through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, which benefits families who have a need for financial assistance with presents for their children and seniors.
Earlier this month, Paycom hosted its second annual HoliDazzle event, also benefiting The Salvation Army. Held Dec. 13 at Buy for Less’ 3501 Northwest Expressway location, the coat drive was part of KFOR’s annual Brad Edwards Warmth 4 Winter campaign.
