Even though it’s our busiest time of the year, we’re never too busy to pass on some exciting news and thank our employees — yet again — for helping to shine the spotlight on Paycom. Our employees anonymously shared their experiences and opinions, helping Paycom earn two highly prestigious workplace honors this month. Paycom took the No. 2 spot on The Oklahoman’s Top Workplaces in Oklahoma list and landed on Glassdoor’s 50 Best Places to Work for 2015.

We are extremely proud of both of these accomplishments. This recognition is a tribute to the incredible culture Paycom employees and its leadership have cultivated. It’s also proof that working in a serious, structured and secure industry doesn’t mean the workspace has to be boring!

Cubes Don’t Have to Be Square

Employees scored Paycom’s culture as “extremely high,” receiving a 4.4 out of 5 rating on Glassdoor. This is especially interesting considering most of our employees work in a cubicle setting. For many of our nation’s workers, the cubicle connotes dread. For Paycom employees, however, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Unadorned walls aren’t the scene at Paycom; rather, employees express their creativity regularly with cube-decorating contests using sports, holidays and special events as their inspiration. They also use their work environment to recognize and reward their fellow cube-mates. Our employees don’t get stuck in a “cubed” mentality; instead, they find ways to create a remarkable cube culture that’s stimulating, collaborative and fun. That’s a winning culture at its finest.

Work Hard. Play Harder!

It sounds clichéd, but Paycom’s employees work as hard as they play. Operating a payroll company sometimes means planning for blackout periods or working long hours, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun, too. Our employees strive for a level of excellence, and because of their dedication, we remain a successful business.

Each year, we recognize employees’ efforts with an all-expenses-paid trip and party for them and a guest. It is a well-deserved reward for all of their hard work throughout the previous 12 months. Oh, and we have a great time, too!

Perks and Opportunities to Grow and Learn Count

With these newest honors, we are proud to have scored extremely high in questions regarding benefits and compensation, likely due to such perks as our 401(k) plan, $1 health insurance and daily catered lunches. Paycom employees also receive regular performance reviews and merit increases, with an opportunity to provide a self-assessment as well.

Our employees take advantage of multiple training and education opportunities offered throughout the year. These sessions include honing product knowledge and job-related skills, but also address areas like leadership and personal growth. With Paycom receiving a score of 4.4 in the category of career opportunities, our employees have spoken; they see the connection between hard work, increased knowledge and opportunities for career growth.

We thank The Oklahoman and Glassdoor for giving our employees the opportunity to speak up about where they work.
