Paycom Ranked as the No. 1 Workplace in Oklahoma

Jennifer Kraszewski | December 4, 2020

Our state has no shortage of great companies, and in the annual Top Workplaces survey, Paycom has again been recognized as the Top Workplace in the state of Oklahoma. This marks the eighth consecutive year we’ve made the Top Workplaces list. What makes this award even more special is the fact that these rankings are based on a voluntary, confidential employee survey.

Paycom has long recognized the importance of being intentional and innovative in our products, but we also apply the same mindset to our organizational culture. This sort of environment aims to deliver bottom-line benefits like lower turnover and higher employee engagement, but it’s the day-to-day reality of an active, high-performance workplace where this intention and commitment makes a difference. This recognition is a confirmation of the culture we’ve worked so hard to create.

How did we create an environment our employees find so appealing? It’s not just one thing, but rather an over-arching approach to meeting the various needs of our employees while they drive to meet the goals of the organization.

We take the well-being of our employees very seriously here at Paycom, and helping to provide a sense of security is a key contribution an employer can make in that direction. To that end, we offer a benefits package that includes:

  • $1 per-pay-period health insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company match
  • employee stock purchase plan
  • paid family leave
  • pet insurance
  • and a lot more!

Another key part of a healthy corporate culture is a sense of belonging, and we continually work to strengthen our focus on inclusion and diversity at Paycom. Part of that effort is recognizing the importance of listening to those who want to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas. That’s why we started a new program called Better Conversations. This listening and engagement series is intended to help encourage productive conversations throughout the organization. Led by a facilitator, each session fosters open discussions in a safe atmosphere where everyone’s voice is heard and people are free to speak as their authentic selves.

In March of 2020 and with the health and safety of our employees in mind, we transitioned to nearly 100% working from home. Everyone rose to the challenge and continued to provide our clients with world-class service, develop new software and add new clients to our platform. We’ve really worked hard to keep our culture alive with virtual events, increased focus on maintaining our team cohesion and even a few goodies that show up in the mail from time to time.

The most exciting part of this recognition is knowing the survey was confidential and voluntary. Our top ranking is based on the opinion of individuals at every level of our organization, and we couldn’t be prouder. It’s just one more reason Paycom is a great place to work.
