Paycom Celebrates the Value of Parenthood

Bonny Calfy | July 16, 2024

Paycom supports our employees as professionals, but we also give them the tools and resources necessary to be active, thriving members of their own growing families. At Paycom, we don’t simply say our people are our most valuable resource. We demonstrate this belief with a culture helping them not only meet challenges at work, but meet the many responsibilities of adding new members to their household.

What can our employees expect when they’re expecting to add new seats around the kitchen table? Let’s take a look!

Extra time for family

All families need time to acclimate as they grow. In addition to paid family leave, we offer the following:

  • Parental leave: To support new parents and assist in the tricky balancing act that is work and family, Paycom provides paid parental leave for bonding or caring for a newborn child.
  • Adoption/foster leave: Paycom provides paid leave for employees adopting or becoming foster parents.
  • Secondary caregivers: Parents who are not the primary caregiver are eligible for shorter-term paid leave to look after the child when in their care.

Benefits with growing families in mind

Time off isn’t the only benefit growing families need. Paycom also offers a unique basket of services specifically for growing families. In addition to $1-per-pay-period health insurance, Paycom employees who are expecting parents can take advantage of:

  • Maven: As one of the leading family benefits programs, Maven guides employees through pregnancy, adoption, surrogacy, postpartum, early pediatrics and their eventual return to work. Maven’s 24/7 access includes video chat and messaging with top-rated providers in over 20 different specialties. After returning to work, breastfeeding employees who travel can use Maven to conveniently ship breast milk home while on the road.
  • UrbanSitter: When school’s closed but the office isn’t or a sitter gets sick, it can be challenging for parents to arrange care for their kids. UrbanSitter helps employees find backup child care by connecting them with trusted babysitters, nannies, tutors, pet sitters and more.
  • Employee assistance program: This free program from Paycom provides employees with tools and services to address a variety of situations they may encounter at work and in their personal lives. Services include counseling benefits, peak performance coaching, training and personal development benefits, self-help resources, tools for a better work/life balance and a variety of lifestyle and wellness benefits.

Support throughout the workday

Paycom’s support of new parents doesn’t end when they return to the office. New parents can take advantage of on-site amenities meant just for them, including:

  • Lactation and nursing rooms: Not only does Paycom provide free breast pumps for expectant mothers, new mothers also have access to 45 spaces dedicated for pumping breast milk across our campuses. The rooms also include a small refrigerator designated for milk storage.
  • Privacy booths: Our campuses have soundproof booths, giving employees a safe place to take personal calls.

Opportunities to connect with other caregivers

Parents can connect and support one another through Paycom’s Working Parents & Caregivers Employee Resource Group (ERG), which includes working parents, grandparents, caregivers and allies.

These connections help employees like Mark B., a well-being advisor and co-vice chair of the ERG, whose son was born a few weeks after beginning his job.

“Having a space where I can learn from and support other parents and caregivers has made it easier to navigate the unique challenges that working parents face,” he said.

An award-winning workplace

We’re not the only ones proud of our work to support families. Newsweek named Paycom one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents and Families in 2023, after a review of more than 200,000 companies.

And in 2024, Newsweek named us one of the Most Trustworthy Companies in America for the third year in a row.

At Paycom, we believe when we champion families, we empower our employees and help them achieve their fullest potential. We’re excited to support individuals with a family in their future and families with growth on the horizon.
