Paycom Welcomes Viktor Hovland as Newest Brand Ambassador

Bonny Calfy | June 6, 2022

At 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, Paycom’s newest brand ambassador — professional golfer Viktor Hovland — teed off in the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa.

Although his first major win proved elusive this time, Hovland made the cut to play the weekend. He’s currently the No. 7 ranked golfer in the world and No. 15 in FedEx Cup Season Standings.

A budding superstar in the world of golf, the 24-year-old Norwegian competes in both the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and the European Tour. Since turning pro in 2019, Hovland already has three PGA victories and two international wins, having also competed in the 2020 Ryder Cup and the 2020 Olympic Games. In nine events this season, Hovland has made eight cuts, four top-10 finishes and a win at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in Mexico.

“I am thrilled to partner with Paycom as their newest brand ambassador,” Hovland said. “Seeing their success as a national brand that calls Oklahoma home, there’s obviously a natural alignment there. They’re consistently raising their own standard of excellence through hard work and innovation, which is how I approach the game of golf.”

Of course, Hovland is no stranger to Oklahoma. Before his professional career, he had a storied run at Oklahoma State University, where he was a two-time first-team All-American and three-time first-team All-Big 12 selection. In his final season, Hovland reached the No. 1 spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and was named the Ben Hogan Award winner and Big 12 Player of the Year.

“Viktor continues to have a major impact on the sport of golf, and we’re excited to partner with an athlete who has taken his Oklahoma ties to the national stage,” said Chad Richison, Paycom’s founder and CEO. “We value his winning attitude, work ethic and positive approach to the game and the fans.”

As part of the partnership, Hovland wears Paycom branding on the left chest of his shirt. He debuted the new look in April at the 86th Masters in Augusta, Georgia.

At Paycom, like Hovland, we play to win. It’s a core company value, and that’s why we support and celebrate impactful sports-based programs and initiatives like Paycom Wooden Legacy Tournament, Paycom Jim Thorpe Award, Paycom Center (home of the Oklahoma City Thunder NBA franchise), the New England Patriots, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma.

We’re looking for competitive, high-energy employees to add to the Paycom team. Are you ready to join a winning organization? Find your next career here. Apply today.
