Beyond the Glass Ceiling: Observing Women’s History Month 2022

Bonny Calfy | March 1, 2022

There is an inextricable link between diversity and innovation, and at Paycom, we take pride in fostering both. As Women’s History Month approaches each March, we take the opportunity to appreciate the contributions of women past and present, all across society.

Diversity doesn’t happen by accident. These efforts must be intentional and widespread. As we begin our look at Women’s History Month, we think Olympic medalist Simone Biles sums it up well: “It’s important to teach our female youth that it’s OK to say, ‘Yes, I am good at this,’ and you don’t hold back.”

As important as the initiatives are, how can you quantify their effects? In a world with no shortage of data, one organization has found a way to see which businesses are moving the needle on gender diversity.

Comparably, a workplace culture and review site, recognized Paycom as one of the Best Companies for Women in 2021. Comparably’s rankings are based on more than 15 million ratings from current female employees across 70,000 companies who answered questions about career growth, compensation, benefits and other areas related to their organization.

To learn more about what that means for the women in our workforce, we asked professionals at Paycom to share some thoughts about their experiences. See what they had to say!

“As a woman in senior leadership, I have a unique perspective and strengths that are valued at Paycom. I know I’m empowered and supported in bringing my authentic self to work every single day.”

Sharon T., Director of Operations

“I’ve been fortunate at Paycom to work alongside countless other ambitious women who have influenced my career. When I think about empowerment, I am always reminded that we are better together.”

Alex Y., Client Relations Manager

“Being a woman in the workforce provides an opportunity for me to be empowered, to be bold and influence positive change for myself and those around me.”

Amber R., Paycom Service Manager

“I feel empowered as a woman in the workforce most when I am able to be a warrior for myself and others. It is feeling that fear but doing the hard things anyway, knowing that you are making a difference now and for the future.”

Sam H., Manager of Software Quality

Everyone has their own reason for loving Paycom’s work environment, but leadership is intentional about creating a workplace that supports the well-being of its staff. Programs that support fertility, pregnancy, post-partum care and adoption help families, while ongoing training and professional development opportunities support the growth of our team. These are just a few of the reasons Paycom has earned recent accolades as an outstanding place to work.

This March, Paycom is proud to celebrate Women’s History Month and recognize the myriad ways in which a diverse workplace benefits us all. To learn more about how you can add to that diversity, apply today!
